TOS TrekMUSE is a MUSE, or "Multi User Shared Experience." Unlike a Play-By-E-mail game or an IRC game, the players of TOS TrekMUSE connect to a server using telnet. Each and every player role-plays a person in the Star Trek universe in real-time! This is referred to as "live action role-play," or LARP, in some circles.
Now, some clarification is in order. The player-driven events of TOS TrekMUSE take place just after the end of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. This means that all the events in the popular television series "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," and similar books and movies, haven't happened yet. All the greats (Captain Kirk, Captain Spock, Captain Sulu, and all the rest) are still alive!
As a player, you can be a Terran, a Vulcan, a Romulan, a Klingon -- anything! You will join one of these empires as a normal citizen. You can then become part of the military (like Starfleet), the diplomatic corps, the intelligence organization, the merchant marines, or whatever other jobs your empire provides. In the TOS TrekMUSE universe, your potential is limited only by your imagnination.
After years of production work, TOS TrekMUSE's staff has produced an environment unlike any live-action role-play environment in the world! Thanks to recent advancements in the technology surrounding the Internet, we can deliver many more features, including better simulation systems, sound, and even graphics. This is made possible by the TOS TrekMUSE Development Staff, which is primarily comprised of players who decided that they liked TOS TrekMUSE so much that they wanted to devote their time and energy toward improving it.
Our players come from all around the world. To date, we have had active players from every continent except Antarctica. This means that we have players connected at every hour, every day, all eager to interact with you, should you decide to become a player yourself.
